Boldfacers Interview
Lions and tigers and bears--oh my, it's a jungle out there, and a dangerous one at that, where only the fittest and most cunning survive. That's a lesson Michael Toney and Matthew Osofisan learned growing up on the inner-city streets of Boston (Michael) and Providence (Matthew). Now, the two friends and business partners translate that lesson onto Tee-shirts. The designers say they base their wares on the theory of evolution, among other things, plastering shirts with characters like Assassin Bear, all Kung Fu, kick-ass and cuddly, and other tough, comically violent characters. After all, we're all animals (Annie Mul--get it?), so we may as well flaunt it.
